Kids’ Stop Children’s Centre is a company that knows the importance of family and strives to provide the best care possible for each child in our care! We have been a part of the Okotoks, AB. community since April 2007 and love the families we serve! Since 2017 we have been adding additional locations to our Kids’ Stop family and are thrilled to have even more children in our care! Director: Ms. Angel

My name is Angel Lee, and I am a passionate early childhood educator with over 20 years of experience nurturing children aged 6 weeks – 12 years.

I am originally from Northern Ireland but have lived all over while following my husband throughout his Military career with the British forces. We emigrated to Canada in 2020 with our two boys and have made Okotoks our forever home.

I love creating inclusive and engaging environments where children can explore their natural curiosity through play-based learning and I enjoy partnering with both families, staff and children to create an environment that is warm, welcoming and inspiring and as each child develops, I am inspired to question how I and the teachers can play a role in their development.

Assistant Director: Ms. Ashley

Hello, my name is Ashley. I am the Assistant Director at Kids’ Stop Children’s Centre in Drake Landing, Okotoks. My education is from the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University with a focus on Early Childhood Development/ Elementary Education. I have taught a variety of ages, and I very much enjoy early childhood and working with families in a childcare setting.

My family and I live outside Turner Valley in the folds of the foothills and with our many animals in a wonderful place we have called home for the past 10 years. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, hobby farming, fishing, snowboarding and spending time with my amazing husband and two children.

In my 15-year career I have worked as a preschool teacher, forest school educator, teacher and now as a director. I feel so grateful to be working with a company that values the child and their family and encourages professional development.

With my variety of experience it has helped shape my own personal philosophy which is a direct reflection of my personality when working with children. Children are inquisitive and capable humans navigating this beautiful world. When I work with children and their families I value them as unique and creative individuals within the centre.

I would love to recommend Kids’ Stop for families, my daughter came here after being at home with me for a year because of covid, she was a little unsure and scared but with the wonderful help of the educators she’s come out her shell and is a right old chatterbox and is loving going to Kids’ Stop on a daily basis.

They have wonderful theme weeks/month, they go on adventure walks and are just very understanding and kind to not only my daughter but me to as well (I did email them a lot to check in).

My daughter is very affectionate to those she likes and these educators get hugs daily.

We love this daycare! They do so many crafts, activities, and sensory play with our child. We always get daily updates and pictures and love being able to see how our little one is doing during the day. The fact that our daughter gets so excited to see her educator is such a testament to how great she is treated and how much they care. We have full confidence sending our child here and know she’s in capable hands.

Kids’ Stop is such an amazing daycare! I knew right away during the tour that it was perfect for my son. I felt very confident and comfortable having my son start full-time at an especially hard age of 11 months. The staff have been so amazing and supportive during his transition. The center is nice and bright and all the staff I’ve seen are so friendly and always smiling.

Growing up I was fortunate to always have a parent home. I never had to go to daycare or have that experience for myself. When I had my son in 2016, I knew staying home after the first year was just not an option. After talking with friends and within mom groups I decided on a local day home. I had a great experience with that decision.

Fast forward a couple of years and my husband is relocated to Okotoks for work. I joined all the groups I could that were local to find care. All the day homes just did not meet my previous standard. After we found a house in Drake Landing, I noticed a daycare center literally across the road. I emailed to ask for a viewing and was notified right away that they had time for us, whenever we needed it. Our first visit went great, I was shown the benefits of the center and my son was getting excited at the possibility of coming back. Due to our moving timeline, we had to find a place fast. We enrolled for the following week.

Since my son has been enrolled since 2019, He has grown exponentially. His language skills, imagination, and self-awareness have come so far. He loves knowing that his teachers have fun days planned and the occasional themed day gets him out of bed in record time. I enjoy hearing about his days, and about the adventures they go on as a class. Through Kids’ Stop my son is also seeing an occupational therapist to help with his development, this is something that would have not been offered at a day home. I was a firm believer that a stay-at-home parent was the best kind of parent. Although, through my experiences and our life here in Okotoks, I know my son is getting the best care and education from attending Drake Landing Kids’ Stop. One of the eye-opening moments for me was when I had a reply from another center THREE MONTHS after my initial submission. Needless to say, Kids’ Stop has been amazing to deal with.
